Many people in Sherwood and the surrounding area commute to Portland, Beaverton, Tualatin, King City and Salem, OR. Sherwood is not just another suburb of Portland. Sherwood was founded in 1842, and has been a standalone community ever since. It’s true the communities around Portland have started to get closer to Sherwood, but Sherwood still has that small town feel while having all the amenities that you need within a short drive.
